Keeping IP68 and an aluminum frame while dropping into the low-1-million-won range is the actual news here; this is a phone for buyers prioritizing durability and price over the newest camera or AI features. The triple rear camera setup (50MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 8MP 3x telephoto) also matches last year’s tier rather than this year’s flagship, which is consistent with how Samsung has positioned every FE model since the line started: recent flagship silicon and design, but camera hardware and RAM held back a generation to hit a lower price point.

Solar Open2-250B (Upstage)

  • Take: this week saw a wave of large open models land at once. Z.ai’s GLM-5.2 is drawing attention as a mixture-of-experts model tuned for coding, math, and agent tasks; DeepSeek-V4-Flash is being adopted for low-latency assistants and coding tools; and Moonshot AI’s Kimi-K3 is positioned for long-context, document-heavy RAG pipelines. Among that group, Upstage’s entry is the one most likely to show up in Korean enterprise software stacks, given the company’s existing customer base here. Adoption decisions should still wait until the license and real benchmark numbers are confirmed — a parameter count in a model’s name is not a substitute for an independent evaluation.
